Author Guidelines

Ihyaul Insan: Journal of Communication Studies (JII) welcomes original research articles in the field of communication studies and related disciplines that are within the journal's aims and scope.

General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, free from plagiarism, and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.

  • Manuscripts may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English using the official JII manuscript template.

  • The manuscript should be 15–25 pages in length, formatted on A4 paper with 3 cm margins on all sides.

  • Use Spectral 12 pt font with 1.5 line spacing throughout the manuscript.

  • The maximum Similarity Index is 20%, as determined by Turnitin.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be organized in the following order:

  • Title

  • Author(s)' Name, Affiliation, and Email Address

  • Abstract (150–300 words) in both Bahasa Indonesia and English

  • Keywords (3–5 keywords)

  • Introduction

  • Research Method

  • Findings and Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • References

Citation and References

  • Citations must follow the APA Style (7th Edition) using the author-date (in-text citation) format.

  • Authors are required to use a reference management application, such as Mendeley.

  • At least 80% of the references should be published within the last five years, and a minimum of 60% should be sourced from scholarly journal articles.

  • Only references cited in the text should be included in the reference list.

Tables, Figures, and Language

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the main text.

  • Table titles should appear above the tables, while figure captions should be placed below the figures.

  • Arabic terms and quotations should follow the official transliteration guidelines issued by the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs and the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 158 of 1987 and No. 0543b/U/1987, where applicable.

Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) on the official website of Ihyaul Insan: Journal of Communication Studies (JII). Before submission, authors are expected to ensure that their manuscripts comply with the journal template, Author Guidelines, and Publication Ethics of the journal.
